Local Genetic Research and Treatment Efforts: The Center for Special Children

Learn about the Center for Special Children, which was established at the La Farge Medical Clinic in 2015 to care for special children in the local community. The clinic is one of six in the country which focuses on the identification of genetic disorders, primarily among the Amish and Mennonite communities. The program collaborates with the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Cytogenetics at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene to offer low-cost genetic testing and ongoing care for children and families. Presented by Dr. Jim DeLine, M.D., La Farge Medical Clinic-VMH.
