Where do I go for help in making a video?
The Distance Education/Digital Media Unit staff consists of an award-winning producer, Dave Luciani, to help you. For questions about uploading your video, or if you have an idea for a video, contact Dave Luciani (firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-265-2527).
Obtaining Copyright Permissions
Each video submission should include permission from the copyright holder to post on the UW-Extension Video Channel, including the person’s role in the production and contact information. These instructions will help you get started.
Submitting Your Video
Videos are uploaded using the video submission tool. All videos submitted will be uploaded to the UW-Extension YouTube Channel. However, uploading a video on the YouTube site does not mean it will be added automatically to the UW-Extension Video Channel. Videos may be recommended by UW-Extension colleagues, but final approval for each video should come from a specialist with expertise in the subject matter.
You will need your UW-Extension login and password to submit a video. A brief description of the video will help to inform the audience of the content, and suggested keywords will help categorize each video.
The video channel is designed to provide additional educational resources for specialists, staff, and the public consistent with Extension’s mission. The content should be reviewed by colleagues for accuracy and thoughtful presentation, based upon university-based research, prior to submission. We recommend no less than two reviews. Enter peer reviewers on the online submission tool.
Growth and Maintenance
We encourage UW-Extension educators and specialists from all program areas to submit videos. Colleagues also are encouraged to seek permission to post educational videos from external partners and colleagues from other institutions. The peer review procedures will apply for all submissions.
Who maintains the UW-Extension Video Channel?
Publishing Unit staff and Distance Education Unit staff maintain the site.
